Hugh James, 52, was also sentenced to two years of supervised release and a combined $1,200 in fines and fees, said the US Attorney's Office.
Authorities said James tried to board a flight from PHL to Montego Bay, Jamaica in October 2020 with $62,000 in undeclared cash in his luggage.
As "an employee with access to the secure area of the airport," investigators said James "arranged to have the cash smuggled around Transportation Security Administration screening."
Of the $62,000 secreted in his bags, officials said $42,000 in $100 bills were found packed inside sealed toothpaste boxes.
He pleaded guilty to one count of evading airport security and one count of failure to declare currency last November, prosecutors said.
In addition to his sentence, James was ordered to forfeit the $62,000, they added.
